Nelson

Nice smooth crossing to Picton on the ferry. Hired a car. First offer was an old 1.8, automatic which would have been a fuel guzzling monster. Or sir/madame we have a 1.2 or 3, gear shift Dhaitsui , are you qualified to drive a manual gear shift sir/madame?

Costs $25 a day with a $5000 excess, unless you take out extra insurance at $19 a day. Smoke mirrors and bloody second hand car dealer's. Should be called 'Rent a Dent'!! Car not worth $2000.

Off we go for a 300 km ride to Nelson. Not sure why!! Turned out okay. Nice place to stay, right on the coast with great views from out bedroom window.
Went on a short train trip. And visited Flounders village. Which is a preserved from early European settlers times. They have a brewery there. Ahh, now I remember why we went to Nelson..... Mike sampled six style's, Yvonne had a coffee.

Stayed for two nights. Next stop Pankuassn.

Leave you with some photos... Approaching Picton, our car, on the train, beer tasting, on the beach.
